‘Black Mamba’ Frans Mlambo strikes new deal with FEN

Polish MMA Organization Fight Exclusive Night (FEN) has managed to pull off one of their best signings to date. After previously departing from Bellator, the South African born fighter Frans Mlambo has officially found a new home.

The significance of this signing is not just because of Mlambo’s massive potential, but the fact that he is another non-Polish fighter that FEN has added to their roster. FEN has been putting on entertaining events since 2013, and will be retuning with FEN 34 on May 28th. Let’s take a look at the newest member of FEN’s Bantamweight division.

Who is Frans Mlambo?

Frans Mlambo has been displaying his MMA potential since 2015 when everything started to click. He had his ups and down during his amateur career before finding himself on a four fight win streak. Mlambo decided it was time to take the next step by competing in the International MMA Federation World Championships in 2015. The IMMAF yearly tournament features the best amateur fighters in the world going at it. Mlambo was able to win four straight fights in his path to winning the 145 pound championship. Since winning the IMMAF championship in 2015, Mlambo rode that momentum into his pro career.

Two months after winning the IMMAF championship, Mlambo made the decision to go pro. He started off with a first round KO in his pro debut at BAMMA 22. Things slowed down for Mlambo as he ending up going 1-1 before signing with Brave CF. Luckily for Mlambo, Brave ended up being one of the best things things to happen in his MMA career. He was ended up fighting seven times for Brave; giving him the opportunity to focus on his development and not where he was going to be fighting next. Mlambo finished his Brave tenure with a 4-3 record, while gaining a massive amount of experience and improving every single fight.

Bellator was intrigued and decided to sign Mlambo for four fights. Mlambo made the most of the opportunity as he went 3-1 with Bellator. Despite only losing to Ricky Bandejas, Mlambo ultimately became a free agent until FEN gave him the contract he was looking for. Now only 29 years old, Mlambo is ready to make a major impact with FEN as he starts his journey to becoming Bantamweight champion.

What is Next?

Frans Mlambo now continues to train at SBG Ireland as he waits to find out who his first opponent will be. Interestingly enough, former FEN Bantamweight champion Jonas Magard has recently refused to defend the belt at FEN 34 and was stripped of the title. Bantamweight contender Taylor Lapilus is now left without a dance partner as the 135 belt looks for a new owner. Will Mlambo make his FEN debut with a title shot? or will he take on former champion Magard to prove his worth to the rest of the division? Only time will tell who Frans Mlambo will fight next, but you can be ensured he is ready to put on another spectacular performance.
