Combate Global & Univision Announce Line-up for May 14

Combate Global & Univision look set to continue their run of ratings dominance with yet another show this coming Friday. Headlining the card will be the anticipated clash between Mexican contenders Jose “Pochito” Alday (13-5-1) and Ramon “Bombardero” Cardozo (8-4).

Jose Alday made history in 2018 when he became the first Combate world bantamweight champion when he defeated Gustavo Lopez via split decision. The two later rematched and Alday lost, making him hungrier than ever to get revenge and reclaim his title. Cardozo is the man who stands in his way however and is a known finisher. “Bombardero” most notably caught Carlos Mascorro in an arm triangle within 37 seconds of the first round back in 2020. A title shot is almost certainly within sight for the winner, so expect a competitive affair when these two bantamweights throwdown!

Also featured on the card is a 153lb catchweight bout between Jordan “Bull” Beltran (10-6) of Puebla, Mexico who will face off with Jose “The Mercenary” Zarauz (21-7-1) hailing from Lima, Peru. Beltran is a deadly submission artist, winning seven of his fights via submission. His stand up game shouldn’t be underestimated however, as he recently won a kickboxing bout by KO in the first round. Zarauz comes in with the experience and is a versatile and experienced striker who can finish a fight whenever he sees fit.

A women’s catchweight bout at 110lbs will also feature inlcuding 22-year-old Ana “La Guerrera” Palacios (4-1-1) and Yajaira “Pantera Negra” Cunningham (2-1). Both are highly touted prospects with Palacios finishing three of her four fights and Cunningham finishing one of her two by submission.

Completing the card will be a preliminary bout between undefeated Ramiro “El Cachanilla” Jimenez (4-0) who puts his perfect record on the line again fellow submission specialist Michael Rodriguez (3-1).

Combate Global & Univision will host the card live Friday, May 14th on Univision (12 a.m. ET/PT) and TUDN USA (12 a.m. ET/9 p.m. PT) in the US and also TUDN MX (11 p.m. local time) in Mexico. UK and European viewers should keep an eye on Combate Global’s Facebook page for more updates.
