ONE Championship: Dangal preview. The heavyweight championship is on the line in a prerecorded event from the Singapore indoor arena. Dominant ONE heavyweight champion Brandon Vera defends his strap against former UFC fighter Arjan Bhullar. The Canadian-Indian fighter won his debut in ONE against former Cage Warriors champ Mauro Cerilli. He goes straight into a title fight because of that victory.

ONE has been filling its roster with heavyweights. Anatoly Malykhin, Amir Aliakbari, Kirill Grishenko, Reug Reug, Marcus Almedia and Dustin Joynson have all also joined the ONE ranks. Bhullar is the first of the new breed to take on the wily old champion. In reality, Vera still looks by far the best in the division and should see this defence through without too much issue. Things might get tougher for him if double champ Reinier de Ridder gets a chance to go for his third belt.

The rest of the card is filled with Indian talent to showcase a relative newcomer nation to MMA. The name of the event is a play on words. Dangal means “wrestling/riot” in Hindi and also means “dignity” in Tagalog. It’s a nice nod to both the headline fighters. Let’s see if any Indian stars rise during the event. The card also has a Muay Thai phenom in Tawanchai PK Saenchai Muaythaigym against Irish fighter Sean Clancy. In addition, the popular Bi Nguyen takes on Ritu Phogat and 4th ranked strawweight Ayaka Miura is in action.
