UFC releases nine fighters inc. De Castro, Piechota
By
VM StaffAn unexpected roster trim occurred Thursday as the UFC releases nine fighters. All of the fighters released have been on a two fight or more consecutive losing streak.
Included in the releases is Contender Series participant Yorgan De Castro and veterans Justine Kish and Luke Sanders. Kish and Sanders were the most experienced in the octagon, Sanders compiling a 3-5 record in the promotion with Justine Kish compiling a 3-4 record.
Oskar Piechota is also on the list after going 2-3-1NC in the promotion. The No Contest came after his opponent Marc-Andre Barriault tested positive for ostarine. Piechota has recently found himself in his own USADA saga after he tested positive for a growth-hormone releasing peptide and was suspended until 2022.
