Dillashaw vs Sandhagen rebooked for July 24

The highly-anticipated return of T.J Dillashaw has been rebooked for UFC Fight Night 192 later this summer.

Originally scheduled for May 8th, the bout was cancelled when Dillashaw suffered a facial cut in training. After the wound became infected, the former bantamweight champion was not given the all-clear by medical staff.

T.J will be returning from a 2-year suspension that was issued for a failed drug test in early 2019.

Following his flyweight debut against Henry Cejudo in 2019, it was reported that Dillashaw had failed both pre and post-fight drug tests. Traces of erythopoietin (EPO) were found in his system, a notorious PED in the sporting world.

In his return to bantamweight, the two time world champion will begin his journey towards UFC gold once again as he takes on #2 ranked contender Cory Sandhagen.

Sandhagen continues his rise to the top.

Sandhagen will hope to add to his momentum following KO/TKO victories over former title-challenger Marlon Moraes and former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar.

With the bantamweight hierarchy seemingly unclear after Aljamain Sterling’s indecisive championship win in March, there is no telling who is next in line for a shot at gold. Nonetheless, top contenders Dillashaw and Sandhagen will hope to make a statement in their July showdown.
