John Poppie vs Kyle Stewart announced as CW 126 main event

John Poppie and Kyle Stewart will square off in a middleweight contest in the main event of CW 126. CW 126 will be held in San Diego, CA on 1st August.

Speaking on the announcement of this fight, Cage Warriors president, Graham Boylan, had this to say:

“What a fight to headline this card! John Poppie is a proven finisher and is coming in with two wins back-to-back. Kyle Stewart has some great experience behind him, including a run in the UFC. I’m excited to see how this one plays out.”

Poppie is a “The Ultimate Fighter” alumni, having competed on Series 19 of the show, and has finished seven of his 10 wins, with his last two coming by TKO.

Stewart has competed in the UFC previously and has finished nine of his 13 pro wins, with six wins by knockout. The UFC veteran has also served in the US Marines and has trained alongside ranked UFC middleweight, Jared Cannonier.

Ahead of his main event fight, Stewart told Cage Warriors:

“I’m pumped to be a part of the first Cage Warriors show in California. I’m ready to put on a show and I’m going to finish my opponent!”

On the announcement of his fight, Poppie said:

“I am very excited for this fight! I can’t wait to take Kyle to deep water and drown him, leaving him and his MMA career at the bottom of the sea!”

Cage Warriors 126 in San Diego is also set to stage the return of former UFC Flyweight title challenger Wilson Reis who will face veteran Johnny Campbell.
