Dominique Wooding and Nathan Fletcher to square off in CW 127 main event

Cage Warriors and Jack Cartwright have mutually agreed to part ways following Cartwright fighting out his champions contract with the promotion, leaving the Cage Warriors bantamweight title vacant. At CW 127 inside the historic York Hall, a new champion will be crowned as knockout artist Dominique Wooding takes on grappling ace Nathan Fletcher in the main event.

Announcing the bantamweight title fight, Cage Warriors president, Graham Boylan, said:

“We wish Jack Cartwright all the best, but now it’s time to crown a new champion. Wooding impressed on his Cage Warriors debut with that knockout win over Cameron Hardy. Fletcher wants a belt to go with his unbeaten record and has shown just how deadly he is when the fight hits the mat. Stylistically it’s a classic striker vs grappler matchup and fans are going to love it!”

Dominique Wooding enters the fight with a 7-4 record, winning all seven of his victories via KO. Ahead of his chance to become Cage Warriors champion in just his second fight with the promotion, Wooding said: “I’m looking forward to collecting my world title!”.

Wooding’s brutal KO of Cameron Hardy earned “Black Panther” VMTV’s Violent One award and the lethal striker will be looking to add to his resume when he faces Nathan Fletcher.

Speaking on the announcement of this title fight, Fletcher said:

“My career so far with Cage Warriors has been amazing, I turned pro with the organisation just over two years ago and since then I’ve run through every opponent I’ve taken on, this one is going to be no different. You can expect another dominant performance and I’ll be leaving the cage with another finish and a shiny new belt. This is my time now, I’m as ready as ever to get this win and become the champ!”
