Combate Global returns Oct. 15th as Landry Ward faces Dumar Roa

In the featherweight (145 pounds) main event, battle-tested Colombian warrior Dumar “Corazon de Leon” Roa (16-10) will square off with undefeated American Landry “The Lone Star Kid” Ward (4-0).
 
Roa, who will turn 31 years old on the date of the fight, is a native of Guateque, Colombia, looking to return to the win column after two consecutive losses this year in La Jaula, the Combate Global competition cage.
 
A former high school football star in his native Fort Worth, Texas, the 24-year-old Ward, who re-located to Miami for MMA training, will look to extend his perfect record, following a split decision victory over Mexico’s Alfrego Ruelas, after the two engaged in an all-out war for three rounds in Combate Global action on July 16.

In a featured lightweight (155 pounds) contest, 26-year-old Cuban native and Judo black belt Luis “El Tigre” Gomez(8-5), fighting out of Miami, will battle 27-year-old, former Boise State University All-American wrestler Michael “The Animal” Garcia of Nampa, Idaho.
 
A featured women’s atomweight (105 pounds) affair will see unbeaten Diana Mendoza (1-0) of Dana Point, Calif. return to La Jaula following her split decision win over Mexico’s Sara Cova at Combate Global on June 25, take on Stephanie Irurzo (0-2-1) of San Luis Potosi, SLP, Mexico.
 
Topping the preliminary fight bill will be a flyweight (125 pounds) matchup between Adrian Garcia (5-1) of Miami and Luis “Pinga” Bojorquez (3-3) of Ensenada, B.C., Mexico.

Cergio Chavez (0-0) of Spokane, Wash. will make his professional debut opposite Chris Mecate (1-1) of Norfolk, Va. in a featherweight scrap.
 
Also making his professional debut, Antonio Noda (0-0) of Miami will face off with Luis “Conde” Navarro (1-1) of Las Vegas, Nev. at welterweight (170 pounds).
