Violent One: Lewis McGrillen
By
VM StaffIn an extremely close contest, the fans votes are finally in and we can confirm Manchester’s own Lewis McGrillen is our Violent One winner for the month of September!
The 21 year old Flyweight from Wythenshawe and Manchester Top Team prospect has been on a tear since he turned pro in May this year. Holding a 2-0 pro record with two first round finishes to his name and a highly successful amateur career behind him, McGrillen is the real deal… and he’s just getting started.
Excelling on both the ground and on the feet, McGrillen is ruthless where ever he decides to take the fight. His in-cage IQ and high work-rate are unmatched at his level and it’s only a matter of time before he’s regarded at international level.
Lewis McGrillen took the Violent One award for September following his ruthless KO of Charlie Falco back at Celtic Gladiator 30. You can see the finish below.
The 21 year old will fight one more time before the close of 2021 in his hometown of Wythenshawe as he faces Marcondes Bastos at Vida Fighting Championships.
The Violent One is a monthly showcase which shines a light on athletes who have made waves in the MMA community through their actions in the cage. Each month four athletes are selected and you, the fans, vote on who is crowned our King or Queen of violence!
