Muhammad Mokaev Sets His Scope On Jeff Molina Despite Upcoming Fight
By
VM Staff21-year-old Muhammad Mokaev is scheduled to fight Charles Johnson at UFC London in July, but that hasn’t stopped him from calling for a fight with Jeff Molina.
“El Jefe” passed a tough test on Saturday night when he defeated Kazakhstani, Zhalgas Zhumagulov at UFC Fight Night 56. There was speculation after the closely contested bout, as the result split opinions with fans. Not only were the fans left scratching their heads, but when Molina heard the scorecard ’30-27′ he walked away in frustration, assuming he was on the wrong side of the decision.
Muhammad Mokaev didn’t take long to take to Twitter after the fight, setting his scopes on the Glory MMA prodigy, saying: “Jeff Molina, stay healthy I wanna fight against you in France (September) or Abu Dhabi (October), I’m gonna maul you!”
Fans haven’t seen much of Muhammad Mokaev in the UFC Octagon, as on his debut he submitted Cody Durden in under a minute with a guillotine choke.
Despite Mokaev making the matchmakers aware of his desire to fight Molina, El Jefe is yet to acknowledge the 21-year-olds callout. Molina did however nonchalantly called a shot of his own. The Jamaican Sensation is who Molina wants to share the Octagon with, after Ode Osbourne also picked up a win on Saturday against Zarrukh Adashev.
Before the possibility of Mokaev vs Molina can be considered, Muhammad Mokaev has to get past the puzzle of Charles Johnson on July 23rd. The former LFA Flyweight champion’s last loss came to Brandon Royval back in 2018, and since then he has won four MMA bouts on the bounce, resulting in the UFC sending him a contract. Johnson was originally scheduled to take on Shannon Ross on the UFC Contender Series.
UFC Paris takes place just over a month after UFC London, with Robert Whittaker vs Marvin Vettori set to headline the first UFC event in France.
