CG Returns To Televisa, Giving Them Largest North American TV Footprint

VM StaffTelevisa Univision and Combate Global today announced the return of the world’s premier Hispanic Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) sports franchise to Televisa channels “CANAL 5” and TUDN, the open and free television network with the most diverse, complete and specialized sports offer in Mexico, beginning on Friday, July 15 at 11:00 p.m.
With the addition of Televisa channels “CANAL 5” and TUDN, to its media partnership portfolio that already includes Univision, the number one Spanish language television network in the U.S., Combate Global’s television footprint becomes the largest in North America of any combat sports organization in history.
“We are very excited that Combate Global is back in Mexico. With this agreement, our audiences will be able to enjoy Mixed Martial Arts sports on “CANAL 5” and TUDN. This kind of fights have a lot of fans in our country and will diversify and strengthen our sports offer”, said TUDN General Director of Sports Events, Alberto Sosa.
“Combate Global is back on the air on Mexico’s biggest television network, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to deliver Mucha Más Acción to millions of Mexican fans again,” said Combate Global CEO, Campbell McLaren.
The programming on Televisa channels “CANAL 5” and TUDN, will consist of a weekly, 60-minute window, between July 15 and October 28, with the exception of one Combate Global event scheduled for September 24, that will not be a part of the 16-week run.
Airing from Miami, Fla., the Combate Global event on July 15 will be headlined by a women’s atomweight (105 pounds) showdown between 24-year-old budding star Ana “La Guerrera” Palacios of Mexico City, Mexico, and Korean champion Bo Hyun Park (4-1) of Seoul, South Korea.
Also on the live Televisa channels “CANAL 5” and TUDN the July 15 show will include a Combate Global featherweight (145 pounds) battle between Muay Thai champion Carlos “El Diamante” Guerra (11-10) of Mexico City and battle-tested brawler Jean Marc “Kokito” Howell (13-7) of Oranjestad, Aruba.
Week after week, from this July 15 to October 2022, every Friday at 11:00 pm, our audiences will be able to enjoy on “CANAL 5” and TUDN, the emotion of 14 MMA events, with the best anchors and sports analysts, sharing the emotion of this sports as if they were in front of the ring.
