Simeon Powell makes it 3 on the bounce with vicious leg kick TKO

With the PFL kick-starting their European takeover, you could always count on Simeon Powell being in their plans for their debut show in London, at the Copper Box Arena.

“Smooth” Simeon Powell was looking to make it 3 in a row coming in against a late change of opponent, Joao Paulo Fagundes. He did just that with a slick performance, showing that he has the potential to be a serious problem in the Light Heavyweight tournament.

In round 1, he did eat some shots from Fagundes, but with the talented skillset he possesses, you just knew that wouldn’t last long. Despite being a sensational striker, Simeon utilised an underrated part of his game, his grappling.

After scoring himself some nice takedowns in both rounds 1 and 2, he did well to mix up his attacks, going from the head to the legs, with the leg kicks subsequently adding up and becoming too much for Fagundes to take.

In the second round, after a few more brutal leg kicks, Marc Goddard waved the fight off as Fagundes’ legs gave way underneath him, with Simeon moving to the illustrious 3-0 under the PFL banner.

After 3 hugely impressive wins, how far do you think Simeon can go in the Light Heavyweight tournament?
