EMC 10 Results | Engizek Retains Middleweight Title, Silva Puts On A Display
By
VM StaffElite MMA Championship staged the biggest show in their history on Saturday evening (September 24) inside Castello Düsseldorf, Germany. A packed crowd of 2700 fans, the largest number ever in attendance for the European promotion, witnessed an exciting night of action at EMC 10 that provided many highlight-reel finishes. Only two of the bouts on the eleven-fight card went the distance, with eight stoppages coming in the very first round.
In the main event, Kerim Engizek (18-4) successfully defended his EMC middleweight title for the first time when he finished Wallison Henrique (15-12, 1NC) with a crushing liver kick in round two. The popular German fighter had been working with UFC middleweight top contender and former kickboxing world champion, Alex Pereira, leading up to this bout and his striking looked on point throughout the contest. With this victory, Engizek extends his winning streak to eleven (nine of which are by stoppage) and big things are certainly on the horizon for the UFD Gym product.
Fabiano Silva (33-14-1) put on arguably the best performance of his career when he viciously knocked out Bekhruz Zukhurov (16-6) after just two minutes of the first round in the evening’s co-headliner. However, the EMC featherweight title remains vacant as the Brazilian missed weight on Friday. Silva is the only man who has ever held the 145lbs belt in the organisation and he wants to reclaim what he believes belongs to him as soon as possible.
Ahmed Abdulkadirov (9-1) won the inaugural EMC lightweight title when he defeated Alexandre Ribeiro (19-10-1, 1NC) by TKO in round one. The 27-year-old’s powerful striking was on display once again and he was constantly hunting for the finish. A precise punch to the body closed the show for Abdulkadirov, who reminded everyone emphatically that he is one of the best prospects in Europe.
Elsewhere on the card, the crowd erupted when Lom-Ali Eskiev (20-5, 1NC) dispatched of Welisson Paiva (7-3-1) by TKO in the opening frame and former boxing world youth champion, Deniz Ilbay (3-0), picked up a unanimous decision win over late-notice replacement, Denis Gondžala (1-1). Bellator veteran, Walter Gahadza (19-7), earned his first victory in EMC when he submitted Robert Oganesyan (8-10, 1NC) by rear naked choke.
