Jake Paul signs with PFL, MMA debut expected for 2023

‘The Problem Child’ Jake Paul is making the move to MMA.

Crossover boxer and promoter Jake Paul has been a target of scrutiny for MMA fans for some time. His fighting of retired UFC alum and callouts of big-named talent has rubbed many fans up the wrong way, but it appears that the YouTuber-turned-fighter will be entering the cage himself.

The New York Post reported that Paul had signed a deal with the PFL. He is planning to make his MMA debut in 2023, with a professional boxing match also to come this year. Reports say that he will compete in the promotion’s Super Fight division, which has been newly minted.

No opponent or date has been announced as the Ohio native’s opponent, as of writing.

As well as his role as a fighter, Paul will also serve as “Head of Fighter Advocacy”. He has long been vocal about the mistreatment of MMA fighters and, in particular, the exploitative fighter pay of the UFC.
