Brendan Loughnane vs Marlon Moraes | PREVIEW
By
VM Staff2022 PFL featherweight champion Brendan Loughnane is set to take on former UFC bantamweight Marlon Moraes at PFL 1 set for April 1st.
This fight should make an interesting match-up as Loughnane (25-4) is taking on an opponent with much more experience and someone who is much more versatile. Moraes stands strong on the feet but is just as capable of finishing on the ground. Loughnane however, has been on a very good run on form and has proved that he can perform in the big occasion after his championship winning fight against Bubba Jenkins.
Loughnane has the capability to knock his opponents out but will he be able to cope on the ground. Though being a skilled grappler himself Moraes has the ability to submit when in those scenarios whereas Brendan Loughnane hasn’t really shown he can do that yet.
Moraes (23-11-1) comes into the fight on a 5 fight losing streak after falling short in his PFL debut against Sheymon Moraes where he was finished via TKO in the first round. But Marlon Moraes is back and is ready for the challenge of Brendan Loughnane at PFL 1.
Moraes has performed at the top of MMA and has fought some of the biggest name in the sport such as: Henry Cejudo, Jose Aldo and current UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling. He has competed for the title in UFC and knows how to deal with pressure. He is a brilliant striker and grappler and if he can regain some form could give Loughnane a challenge.
