For a long time, many have talked about it but now we bring you a promotion that is actually doing it. United Fight League (UFL) is set for its second event which takes place this Saturday, May 13th in Memphis, Tennessee. An event that will see its signed fighters walk into the cage looking for victory but all walk out of it (win or lose) with benefits that will help them through and after their MMA careers are done.
United Fight League founder and established entrepreneur, Harrison Rogers has joined forces with some of the biggest legends in MMA, former 2x Heavyweight World Champion Frank Mir and former Light Heavyweight World Champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, as they look to reinvent the wheel of combat sports by putting fighters and their future’s first.
“As a fan of combat sports, I wanted to create a promotion that not only allows fighters to compete in the sport they love but also offered benefits and additional resources to ensure that are taken care of every step of the way.
It was important for the UFL to offer these benefits to all of the signed fighters on our roster so they could focus on their careers while we took care of everything else.”
– Harrison Rogers | UFL CEO & Founder
UFL 1 took place on February 18th, 2023, in Mesa, Arizona, a date that not only marked the launch of this promotion but also saw history made as the signed fighters who competed in the UFL cage were the first to walk away with the full benefits and shares. Amun Cosme was one of those fighters and he had this to say:
“The peace of mind I got knowing that they gave me health insurance outside of the fight, my whole training regiment was just like… we good, let’s do this.
Having that peace of mind as a fighter is just priceless.“
– Amun ‘Moon’ Cosme | UFL Fighter & Bantamweight Grand Prix Competitor
The next UFL event will be held May 13th at the Memphis Sports and Events Centre (MSEC) and will continue the UFL Grand Prix format including quarterfinal bouts in the men’s Bantamweight, Featherweight, Welterweight, and Middleweight brackets plus the female Bantamweight bracket on a night of fights that will feature top talent from around the world including America, Brazil, Great Britain, Ireland, Slovakia, Cuba, Wales and beyond.
