BREAKING | Lerone Murphy out of his fight with Dan Ige

Lerone Murphy confirmed to VMTV’s Kyle Dimond that he is injured and therefore out of his co-main event clash with Dan Ige on February 10th. VMTV reached out to “The Miracle” following an interaction on social media between Murphy and Ige that seemed to suggest that the fight was off.

Following an inspirational message posted by Murphy, his scheduled opponent responded by sending his best wishes to the Brit:

“Heal up champ”

Murphy responded, thanking Ige for his brief message:

“Respect G”

Having drawn the biggest test of his career to date, a lot of fans were looking at February 10th as the night that Murphy would announce himself as a serious threat in the featherweight division by taking out the #13-ranked contender.

The Manchester Top Team fighter, who is currently one spot below Ige at 145-pounds, is coming off of back to back wins last year against Josh Culibao and Gabriel Santos.

Several other setbacks outside of his control have slowed Murphy’s UFC trajectory at some points during his run but there’s no denying that he’s one of the top UK talents on the roster right now.

We wish Lerone Murphy a speedy and healthy recovery and can’t wait to see what is next for the man that they call “The Miracle”.
