Violent One: Chrissy Mountford

The Violent One award for July could very will be a KO of the year contender as Chrissy Mountford takes the award by a landslide victory following the fan vote.

Now, Chrissy Mountford is a name you may not be familiar with just yet, but one you will become very acquainted with in the near future! Competing amongst the UK’s amateur 155lbs division, Mountford has impressed upon impressed in his outings in the cage. Boasting a record of 5-1 with three wins coming by way of first round finish, supporters have long been calling for the Stoke lad to make the jump from amateur to pro. Those calls definitely peaked during his most recent victory at Battle Arena 60 where Mountford went viral for his Violent One winning finish.

An almost identical finish to that of the iconic Anderson Silva’s over Vitor Belfort, Mountford launches his strike with perfect timing and accuracy. You can see as his foot connects, Norsworthy is out, stunned in time as he awaits the referee’s intervention, handing Mountford the win, only 12 seconds into the first round.

Chrissy Mountford trains at The Warfare Academy out of Stoke-On-Trent under the tutelage of Harry Burton and Georgi Georgiev. Mountford will return to action October 9th as he faces Sebastian Fossen for the European Lightweight title at Battle Arena. This is a fight fans will need to keep an eye on as the winner could very well become the hottest prospect in Europe’s 155lb division.
