Giga Chikadze and The Korean Zombie continue war of words after UFC Vegas 46
By
VM StaffGiga Chikadze fought at UFC Vegas 46 but ultimately came up short, losing to the Calvin Kattar’s pressure fighting. There was some back and forth between Chan Sung Jung AKA The Korean Zombie and Giga as Zombie was recently awarded a title fight opposite Alexander Volkanovski after Max Holloway pulled out due to injury.
Chikadze was not happy about Zombie jumping the que and some choice words for the one time 145 pound title challenger (soon to be two time challenger). Chikadze was undefeated going into the Calvin Kattar fight this past weekend, going seven straight in the UFC with wins over Cub Swanson and Edson Barboza most notably. KZ is coming off of a win over Dan Ige but lost his previous fight to Brian Ortega.
Giga felt disrespected by the champ picking KZ over him and promised to see him the Octagon following his fight with Calvin Kattar.
Of course, things did not go according to plan for Giga Chikadze last Saturday and Calvin Kattar used his boxing to pressure and take away the dreaded Giga kick for a large portion of the bout. KZ took an opportunity to take a dig at the Georgian and it seems the war of words is not over.
Of course, kicking him when he’s down would not sit well with the 33 year old and this was Giga’s response to his Twitter opponent (which he responded to on Instagram for some reason).
Who knows, a fight between these two may be in the future as Giga climbs the ranks he will trade blows with the Korean Zombie off social media. If all goes well for Zombie then it could even be for UFC gold.
