Former UFC fighter Paige VanZant has signed with AEW

Former UFC and bare-knuckle fighter Paige VanZant has added a new string to her forever growing bow by signing with wresting promotion AEW.

Not content with being a UFC star, bare-knuckle fighter, social media star plus a reality TV regular (Dancing with the Stars) the 27-year-old is now adding being a professional wrestler with All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

It comes as no surprise to most fans due to several cross over promotions with UFC athletes and promotion WWE previously where former UFC bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey again paved the way for UFC athletes to have storylines in the promotion.

With VanZant having already made several guest appearances on #AEWDynamite which is a rival to promotion WWE.  It was officially announced by Tony Khan who is the CEO of AEW owner of Fulham Football Club and Jacksonville Jaguars on his Twitter page

VanZant had her first appearance late last year on AEW where she was part of America Top Team’s feud with Chris Jericho and owner of ATT Dan Lambert.

VanZant who competed for the UFC from 2014 to 2020 was highly touted to be the next UFC star coming out of Team Alpha Male, winning her first three fights she was on her way to prove to the world why “12 gauge” would be a champion.

With her first headlined fight against Rose Namajunas on 10th December 2015, it was not meant to be after being submitted in round 5.

Suffering her first loss VanZant went on to amass a record of 5-4 with the promotion and an overall mixed martial arts record of 8-5.

2020 started on a downward spiral for VanZant after losing her last fight on her UFC contract.  VanZant left the UFC and signed a four-fight deal with promotion Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, again there were high expectations for VanZant.

Losing both her Bare Knuckle fights in 2021 VanZant admitted that she was struggling with her mental health.

Fast forward to now, 2022 VanZant is in a much better place with her mental health and now forging a professional wrestling career.
