Paul Craig vs Volkan Oezdemir official for UFC London
By
VM StaffScotland’s Paul Craig will return to London when the Octagon does on July 23rd with an opportunity to add a big name to his resume when he faces former world title challenger Volkan Oezdemir.
Since a split decision draw to ‘Shogun’ Rua in 2019, Paul Craig has won four in a row including a rematch with Rua and back-to-back finishes over Jamahal Hill and Nikita Krylov last time out in London. One of the highlights of March’s London event, Craig once again pulled off the submission off his back, catching Krylov in a triangle choke after a strong start for the Ukrainian.
Volkan Oezdemir will step into the octagon for the first time in 2022, making his second appearance in London. Sitting one place behind Craig in the rankings at 9, Oezdemir has won just two in six since facing Daniel Cormeir for the light heavyweight title at UFC 220 in January of 2018. Back to back losses to Jiri Prochazka and Magomed Ankalaev have seen his place in the division under threat.
The UFC’s return to London takes place on July 23rd, main evented by Tom Aspinall vs Curtis Blaydes at the O2 Arena. Don’t forget to sign up to MMAPlay365 for all your essential betting advice and predictions leading to UFC London!
