Reo Yamaguchi announces IMMAF World Championships will be his last

VM StaffReo Yamaguchi has for a long time been one of the most recognisable amateur fighters in the world having won medals on more than one occasion and fighting world champions who have gone onto the UFC such as Mohammed Mokaev.
Holding an amateur record of 15 wins and 5 defeats, it’s clear to see why Yamaguchi has quickly become a fan favourite and renowned prospect amongst the MMA community. With this 2023 IMMAF World Championships revealed as his last, numerous promotions will have their eyes firmly set upon him in hopes of potentially landing the next big star from the Asian region.
Yamaguchi made his IMMAFs debut in 2018 but also competed in the Marshall World cup which was hosted in 2017 by the Japan MMA Federation (JMMAF). during this time he’s fought the likes of Mohammed Mokaev (as mentioned) 3 times and rising professional prospect Juan Carlos Izquierdo.
