Sean Brady out of UFC 290 due to injury
By
VM StaffFans were excited to see the return of Philedelphia grappler Sean Brady at UFC 290, but they will have to wait. News broke earlier this morning that Brady had been hospitalised with an unknown injury and has been forced to withdraw from his bout with Jack Della Maddalena next week. The news was first reported by Bendaman, an Australian Twitter user with sources close to Maddalena.
No official word has been given on whether or not the UFC will search for a replacement, as of writing. Welterweight contender Joaquin Buckley claimed that he was offered the fight on short-notice, but had to decline due to weight concerns. Maddalena proposed a 185lb bout to accomodate the circumstances, but Buckley refused.
There is a possibility that the UFC will rebook the bout for UFC 293, which is set to take place in Syndey, Australia, but this is only speculation.
Brady last fought at UFC 280, losing to Belal Muhammad via second round TKO. Maddalena picked up a stoppage over Randy Brown in his last fight, which took place at UFC 284.
