Umar Nurmagomedov out of UFC Nashville bout with Cory Sandhagen
By
VM StaffUFC bantamweight contender Umar Nurmagomedov has been forced out of his bout with Cory Sandhagen, according to reports. The pair were scheduled to meet on August 5th in Nashville, but the fight is now off, per The Schmo.
The promotion is now looking for a replacement to take on Sandhagen.
Nurmagomedov, who boasts a 16-0 record, has gone 4-0 since entering the UFC. His most recent win came against Raoni Barcelos in January, where he picked up a slick first round knockout. UFC president Dana White has stated that the matchmakers have found it hard to find contenders willing to take on the young Dagestani.
Sandhagen, meanwhile, last fought Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera in March, picking up a decision win. That marked the second win on the spin for the former title challenger.
No word has been given on who is expected to step in, as of writing.
